Supported Work is an employment program intended to prepare and assist recipients of cash assistance from the County Assistance Office to obtain unsubsidized employment.  It is a six to nine month program offering a three-week assessment.  This assessment time is spent testing the clients reading and mathematic skills, their barriers to employment, and disclose their innate talents.  Time is spent on reorganizing their time and responsibilities to their families.  Additional time is spent discussing what is required of them as an employee.  Meeting with the Job Developer three times per week, permits the discussion of available jobs, the qualifications needed to obtain the job and the hourly wage of this job.
