Introduction to Computers

All classes are designed to give a student "hands-on" training and experience in the use of all software applications.

Beginner's class is designed for people who have little or no knowledge of how to use a computer.

Maximum class size is 12 students.  All students receive a book of instructions, floppy disk and confidence to operate a computer.

Classes are of no cost to applicants who are at or below 125% Federal Income Guidelines.  Call 763-4227 for a schedule and application.

Internet Explorer:      6 hour class

Microsoft Word:        12 hour class

• Create, save and print a document
• Open a document
• Create headers and footers
• Cut, copy and paste
• Spell check a document
• Mail merge
• Inserting and managing graphics and clip art
• Formatting

PowerPoint:                 6 hour class

• Working with slides
• Creating the look of presentations
• Adding and formatting text
• Adding clip art
• Printing presentations

Microsoft Excel:         12 hour class

• Creating, opening and saving files
• Creating and managing worksheets and workbooks
• Entering data and selecting cells
• Formatting worksheets
• Creating formulas and auditing workbooks
• Working with charts

Publisher:                     6 hour class

• Design professional looking publications
• Use templates to create newsletters, postcards, flyers, web sites, email announcements and other publications
• Insert and manage clip art and graphics
• Insert and format text
• Create and design by publication type a specific design set or from a blank presentation using your own graphics and text
• Use color schemes, font schemes and layout options
