     Armstrong County Child Care Information Services recieves funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare to administer the Subsidized Child Care Program for low-income families and to make Resource and Referral information available.

     Resource and Referral information is provided to all members of the Armstrong County Community regardless of income, age, race, sex, religion or handicap. Application for subsidized Child Care is available to families at or below 200% Federal Income Guidelines of the FPIG who work 20 hours per week or work 10 hours per week and attend training 10 hours and and meet other eligibility guidelines. Enrollment in subsidized care is dependant on availability of funds.

Services offered:

  • Subsidized eligibility determined.
  • Identification of certified and licensed child care providers and assistance in finding providers to meet individual family needs.
  • Availability of Child Care Centers, Group Day Care Homes, Family Day Care Homes and Relitive/Neighbor Care.
  • Programs serving infants/toddlers, preschoolers, school age children, before and after school and summer programs.
  • Program for TANF families.
  • Information and Referral to other community resources.
  • Parent education on quality child care practices and child development issues.

The following information is required when applying:

  • Written proof of all earned income.
  • Written proof of hours and days of employment and enrollment in a training program if applicable.
  • Birth dates and social security  numbers of all family members.
  • Statement of child support received if applicable.    

The CCIS Office provides referrals, not recommendations to child care options.

The CCIS office is located on Water Street in Manorville and is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and by appointment.
