Services Available: GOVERNOR RENDELL ESTABLISHES SERVICE CENTERS TO AID HURRICANE KATRINA VICTIMS “CareerLink offices are ideal to serve as a point of service because they are located throughout the commonwealth and they already have an extensive network of community support. CareerLink staff will connect evacuees with services offered locally. Our goal is to help evacuees in every way possible.” CareerLinks across the state will be available to help meet evacuees’ needs ranging from food, shelter and medical care to finding a job. CareerLink staffs are prepared to coordinate services with state agencies such as the Departments of Health and Public Welfare and relief agencies such as the Red Cross. In addition, victims affected by Hurricane Katrina can call a FEMA toll-free number to register for a wide range of federal and voluntary disaster assistance programs.
